CNY 2015 IN BANGKOK : Shadi Home Resident

For this trip, we got our shelter at Shadi Home Resident for 3 nights. The hotel is located in the Pratunam area. It's just 3 minutes walking to the famous Pratunam wholesale morning market, Indra Square and Baiyoke Tower.
And only 5 minutes to Platinum Fashion Mall, The Palladium Walking Street As mentioned in the previous post , Shadi Home is also near to the Ratchaprarop Station of Airport Rail Link.

Click here to learn on how to reach to Shadi Home from Don Mueang International Airport.

Pre-booking was done earlier on Agoda and we picked Deluxe Triple with breakfast included , it is provided every morning at 8am local time.

It is a bonus that 7-11 convenient store is just right beside Shadi Home.

The staff are helpful and easy-approached to guide us upon our questions about some destination. They normally draw us a little map to reach the place with Siamese word written ( just in case you could ask people around ).
All are fairly good in English spoken.

Breakfast served is generally the same for everyday including rice, chicken curry, pasta, stir fried vegetables, fries and sausages, cereals, fruits, hot and cold beverages,
Omelette is served upon order on the counter, it tastes simply good but personally think that it's a little bit oily.

There is no any nearest BTS stations to this hotel, you could just reach Pathuwan area by walking few steps further towards north from Platinum Fashion Mall. Pathuwan area are mostly crowded as it has a number of tourists' attractions which including Pratunam Pier, Central World, Big C Supermarket, Gaysorn Plaza as well as Erawan Shrine.

Another updates coming up soon.

CNY 2015 IN BANGKOK : Penang - Hatyai - Bangkok

Happy Chinese New Year everyone, in this goat year of 2015, my family and I spent our CNY eve till day 3 in Thailand. It was like FINALLY, WE'VE SUCCESSFULLY ACHIEVED OUR BANGKOK TRIP !!!
We'd planned everything perfectly and were about to travel to Bangkok in CNY 2014 but due to political harsh occurred in Bangkok which even led to curfew and disharmony in the city, so we just cancelled our trip with full refund and made it for this year.

We took Air Asia to Bangkok at Hatyai International Airport. This is due to the flight time available as domestic flight from Hatyai to Bangkok serves one flight every hour but there's only one which is 3.05pm from Penang to Bangkok.

Penang - Hatyai
Flight time was 1205 (GMT +7). So, we went to Hatyai by Siamese van service at 5.30am with a flat fare of MYR 45 each.
( Additional MYR 10 added due to festive season, normal fare costs at only MYR 35 )

Thanks God that everything proceeded smoothly at both Sadao and Bukit Kayu Hitam immigration centre despite the long queue occured and we safely reached Hatyai town at 8.30am ( Thailand time ).

We settled our breakfast at our favourite Dim Sum Restaurant at Tayern.
385 Baht for five including :
2 Bak Kut Teh
2 fragrant rice
1 basket of Dumpling ( 烧卖 )
1 basket of barbecued pork bun ( 叉烧包)
1 basket of steamed pork with sweet corn
1 basket of salted duck egg crispy bun
1 basket of fried squid ball
1 plate of fried taro with barbecued pork inside
Chinese tea ( 菊宝 )for two persons
1 iced milk tea
1 hot coffee

We consider the price charged is fairly reasonable, the food are simply mouthwatering and delectable.
It is located opposite of CIMB THAI at the third street or just show the name card to the people there to reach, it's just walking distance.

We booked our transport to Hatyai International Airport by van service, each 100 Baht. Picking time is based on your preference and just told the person in charge when you pay ,our van service picked us at 12pm ( Thailand Time ) after we'd wandered around Lee Garden Plaza since we had time to kill after breakfast.

It took nearly 30 minutes to reach airport with smooth traffic flow.

Hatyai - Bangkok
We departed at 2,25pm ( Thailand time ) after a delay of 20 minutes occurred. Our safe flight to Don Mueang International Aiport landed at 3.50pm ( Thailand time ).
The public transport service in Bangkok is simply convenient and easy, frankly.
We reached at the arrival hall and look for the signboard stating and showing public buses.
We went to the Exit 4 to hop on A1 air-conditioned bus ( Orange Coloured ) with approximately 30 minutes journey to Mo Chit BTS.
Bus fare charged at 30 Baht each passenger.

We then headed to Phaya Thai station via BTS, single journey fare at 34 Baht. Children below 90 cm are exempted from paying fares whereas children below 140 cm are only exempted from paying on the Nation Children's Day.

Phaya Thai BTS station is also an interlink station to Airport Rail Link System. Exit at Phaya Thai station and with only 2 minutes walking distance based on the signboard provided then you will reach Airport Rail Link Phaya Thai station.  We had to reach Ratchaprarop Station which is only reachable via Airport Rail Link. 15 Baht charged for each passenger.

Two lines of Airport Rail Link available which are City Line and Express Line.
Express Line is only available from Suvarnabhumi International Airport to Makkasan Station with flat rate of 150 Baht.
The fare of City Line ranging from 15-45 Baht depends on the distance of your journey.

We exit at Ratchaprarop Station and walked to our hotel located at Soi Ratchaprarop 8 with just walking distance of 5 minutes  ( walking again LOL )

We stayed at Shadi Home Resident. More updates coming up soon including the reviews of the hotel and itinerary on the following days.
