All Gear Up in 2017

So I'd published a post about my thoughts/plan in 2017 earlier on. To make it even more productive, I think I should utilize some essential tool to work it out efficiently as it's also my turn to contribute to family (since I'll be based in my hometown at the moment). After encountering with my family members for the past few weeks, I've managed to list out FIVE things I should own as a solution to my family members, and myself.

Therefore, there I log on to Lazada to see if there's any CNY promotions and great deals at Lazada ( or click here to redirect ) in conjunction with upcoming Chinese New Year. Oh my goodness, it's such a big surprise to me as I managed to find out exactly what my wishlist is on Lazada!

#1 For Dad: A New Mobile Phone
My father is a rather old-fashioned people where he NEVER used a multi-functional mobile phone like his peers. Before his current phone, which is a second-hand from my sister, his phones are all keypad attached ones. I understand at his point of view where his main purpose of using a mobile phone is for call and text messages, nothing more than that. Now his phone is getting unstabilized (phone automatically switch off etc). He's been demanding a new phone and yet indecisive because he don't wish to spend more on it.

I decided to get one for him.

This mobile phone is just right to him where he can explore and experience on camera/selfie besides the necessities. 5 inch SUPER AMOLED screen, perfect! Bonus is, there is a free Yes 4G LTE Prepaid SIM where we can get to try the service, at least make a comparison to see which communication company is better, ain't it?

#2 For brother: A Breakfast Maker
I'm demanding this on behalf of my younger brother for the sake for my family members including myself! My brother has been requesting for this since long yet my mum refused to buy as she thinks that it's not that practical to her. Surprisingly, not only my brother, but my sister and (especially) I, myself also the big fans of eggs and toast as our breakfast! Hence, I guess if I managed to get this in our home, my mother wouldn't make any objection anymore. *Devil smile

TEFAL Toast n Egg (Breakfast Maker) TT5500 RM 239

I'm really thrilled to see this great combination of toaster and egg cooker as one! What's more exciting is, this TEFAL breakfast maker provides a warming tray for heating pre-cooked meat! Oh my goodness, heating time for some instant meal can be settled even quicker now!

#3 For The Ladies in My House: A Hair Dryer
So do you believe that three ladies in my family use a super old-fashioned hair dryer for like more than 20 years? Still usable yet we are in the risk that the potential damage caused might be a harm to our safety. Personally, it's really the time I shall get one in good quality for my mother, sister and myself. Okay la, if the gentlemen need to use it occasionally, I wouldn't say no right.

Philips Thermo Protect Ionic Hairdryer (2100W) HP8234/03 RM 192

Ionic protection is one of the trend in hair care especially in Japan and Taiwan! It is mainly intensify the shine and glossiness of our hair, every one want to look good on hair beside the outfit, to be honest. Add one more to my favourite, cold air shot for the final styling on the hair!

#4 For myself: A pendant
To be frank, I've never owned any jewelries and there's no such tradition of giving this kind of 'atas' stuff in my family. I'm very, yes ultimately very admire my peers who own jewelries as their birthday gift or whatsoever. Purchase jewelry online sounds so much cool and here's my choice.

Poh Kong Auspicious 916 Gold-Golden Rooster Pendant RM 908

I like this cute rooster pendant!!! Rooster is my Chinese Zodiac where it is also Rooster Year in year 2017 according to lunar calendar. I started to be fancy over jewelries few months ago and get to eye on them whenever I walk pass jewelry store in the mall. I'll just keep this roaster pendant as the precious gift of myself, so valuable to be my Chinese Zodiac.

#5 For everyone in my family: A Lunch Box
This is high in demand in my family especially from me, haha! I'm enrolling into internship soon and every cents in my allowance counts so much to me, so I shall prepare my lunch box to working place more frequent. The one I'm currently using is made of plastic and it's gradually turning yellowish as I'd been using it since high school, 7 years to be exact.

ZEBRA Lunch Box 16cm (0.78 Liter) RM 79

I guarantee that my parents, especially, would be very happy to have this in my home. Not sure others but we're using mostly stainless steel dinnerware in my house. Easy to wipe the oiliness is the key. And who doesn't know that Zebra Thailand simply means premium quality cookware? But I guess the most happy one would be me. Say NO to plastic, okay! Hahaha

That's all of the five items I want to have in year 2017. There I proceed to check out and this little things made my day somehow! I'm surprised once again, to see that all five items are sum to RM 2017, so much coincident to year 2017 huh! So is that a hint that I shall not hesitate but to grab them at a time? Perhaps =)

I don't lie any right! Grand total of RM2017 inclusive five items for my family to gear up in year 2017. I shall get these goods to usher my family towards a great and memorable year of 2017, Year of Rooster.

Outdoor Portrait in Campus

I WOULDN'T BELIEVE ON MY DECISION UNTIL TODAY. Trust me, it's basically about the courage at the moment that I made up my mind to go beyond. Little challenge on myself, I suppose.

I'm still a socially-awkward one in an unfamiliar environment. The main reason to involve in an outdoor portrait is simply for the sake of myself. In other way round, counting down to leave campus life indicates that I shall maximize it while I can, be it to carry more activities in campus or do something that never done before.

I come across to know that there is a student in my university, Jeanie, is new in providing photoshoot service. I was thinking, why not we make out for a win-win situation where both parties have the opportunities to learn more? Then, I approached her for more details and yeah, the deal is successfully made up in a short time. Alright, photo time!

Six things you ought to know before photoshoot session
- Communicate with your photographer on the idea for the outcome. Like mine, I asked for feminine concept because it is what I actually lack of, I think.

- Refer to as many portraits as you could to seek for the pose. As recommended by Jeanie, we often get the idea from Cup A.

- Select the suitable coordinate that best fit your photoshoot concept.

- Discuss with your photographer about the coordinates including the accessories.

- If possible, bring nothing (including mobile phone) but only essential items for photoshoot purpose. You wouldn't want your photographer to risk up the damage of your stuff just because he/she may perform in many possible posture just to get the best shoot of you

- Stay calm behind the camera lens. This is to make sure you don't sweat much to smudge off your make up.

My experience of photoshoot
Being passive and unassertive in front of the photographer and unfamiliar public place, Jeanie is able to guide me patiently throughout the photoshoot, be it the pose or the facial expression to get the outcomes turn well. It was a nice short break and I really enjoyed myself in the evening despite the schedule was so much packed for assignments at that time.

I realize that I shall work it out while I can for every possible idea or wish that branched out. All because we only live once, no longer sticking to the status quo.

So, the best time to live out your idea is right now. Never estimate your little/tiny idea because it may possibly turn into a great one. Never tried never know!

Let me end this post with this ultimate (dreamy) effect of a portrait of mine.

Roost for Reunion at G Hotel

Feast. Revel. Bustle. These are how people involve themselves in every festive celebration including the upcoming Chinese New Year. If you are one of those who is still in the midst of selecting the best servings for family or even relatives, fret not, here's a good one for your consideration. In conjunction with the Year of Rooster or what Chinese believe it to be a Golden Chicken Year, G Hotel, as annual, wouldn't miss to provide a great platform for people to reunite in tables, simply means preparing tantalizing meal in an evening.

As shown above, there are three packages namely Happiness (RM 1388 nett), Prosperity (RM 1488 nett) and Longevity (RM 1588 nett). Each of them is inclusive of 8 dishes with free flow of selected Chinese Tea. All served Halal except for additional order on alcoholic drinks.

We were in the bliss to have both red and white wine as a companion in our dinner.

Being privileged for a review, I would like to focus on Longevity Package. It is simply an ideal one for seafood lover as the treasures of the sea are served in almost every dish. The first one, without a doubt, is led by the serving of Yee Sang as a symbolic of all things auspicious.

New Year Fresh Salmon Yee Sang
*Personal Favourite

This flavoursome Yee Sang kicked off my taste buds and I truly enjoyed myself eating it. Also, the crispness of the crackers and the plum sauce is sweet, just right to be a fantastic dressing. Not to mention, fresh raw salmon slice with a little bit of buttery from its fat plays an essential role in a whole. Better yet, it's all about naturally-colourful presentation in front of the diners.

Next, what about soup to warm your stomach?

Braised Shark's Fin Soup with Crab Meat and Dried Scallops

Nothing big for a shoutout for this. Personally, the broth is slightly diluted for my preference. I suppose it's due to the frequency of scooping or stirring . Just my two-cents, I'd always be indulged over a rather thicker texture of the broth.

Not to forget, it's the turn for some protein intake.

Steamed Whole Chicken with Dried Oyster and Sea Moss in aluminium foil

The broth is exactly my kind of favourite texture! It is apparently thicker with little flavoursome of Chinese herb. Chicken breast would be a perfect one for diners with diet-conscious. Did I forget to mention that it is kampung chicken? In fact, the meat is more succulent and contains less fats as compared to farm chicken.

And you know festive season is always a great excuse to savour some high cholesterol food.

Fried Shell-less Prawn in Milk Curry Sauce

Despite the shell-less servings, the mild milky curry sauce managed to unleash in molar as the prawn is marinated overnight. Not too spicy though, suitable even for children.

Next, vege lovers' favourite.

Braised Sea Cucumber and Sea Asparagus with Broccoli
*Personal Favourite

A big thumb up for this fantastic combination. Crunchiness from broccoli and also appropriate braise that lead to the softness from sea asparagus. Plus, braised sea cucumber that comes with gelatinous texture is simply mouth-watering.

The chef wouldn't want you to miss out fish dish as well.

Steamed Cod Fish in Spicy Crispy Bean
*Personal Favourite

Another favourite dish from me over its Chinese style soy sauce. Not too salty and good to go with the unstoppable dipping with the fish. Make sure you have it while it is served warm to be guaranteed with consistent softness and balanced tender of the fish as well as the fragrance from the soy sauce.

As usual, rice is served to make sure the diners to be full.

Fried Rice with Fresh Scallops and Prawn topped with Shredded Crispy Dhafa Fish

A big highlight to fried rice as it is served less oily which definitely sounds great to the diners. The scallops that imported from Hokkaido are claimed to be more tender and sweeter. The children, especially, would love to grab more on the crispy dhafa fish, guaranteed!

Last, dessert served to have the diners leave with satisfaction.

Double Boiled Sea Coconut with Fresh Ginseng, served with Sesame Sweet Potato Bun
*Personal Favourite

A warm dessert is just right to end the dinner over the harmonic flavour of sweetness and bitterness, perfectly paired with a small bun.

Moreover, the in-house sesame sweet potato bun deserves a big shout out. I like the natural fragrance from sweet potato and the bun contains no yeast smell, too.

That's all of the eight courses from Longevity Package at G Hotel. In a whole, it was a delightful dinner to have, with the integral of diversified colour (especially Yee Sang), aromatic flavour as well as the excellent taste of the eight courses. It's truly a great place to have friends and family roost for a reunion dinner with exceptional service provided too.

All three packages (Happiness, Prosperity & Longevity) are available in both G Hotel Gurney and G Hotel Kelawai, with a minimum of three tables (of ten persons) that make up for a private function room. Valid from 15 January till 15 February 2017.

There I go for 19 productive days

I had a quite productive time for the past eight days in 2017. From doing revision for last paper (so much struggling under Last Paper Syndrome), doing house chores (literally everyday), went to banks, dropping grandma for the checkups, morning market as well as grocery shopping. I'd thought it should not be a big deal but hell yeah, one should really get involved into it before saying it's easy. The frustrating time is when you are the midst of locating your car at a lot and leave halfway at the teller just to scratch a new parking coupon before get fined by the city councils. Deep inside, I'd never made any complaint on it because it's my responsibility after all. Okay, peacefully fine.

Ending the paper last Saturday simple means that I'm now totally a vacant one before enrolling into internship which is after Chinese New Year. So I call this period of time as the transition time and at the same time, the last chance of my freedom time. Exactly 19 days to go to CNY Eve and I'm now setting some challenges to myself, no it shouldn't label as challenges, overdue task, maybe? Haha, I've been dragging a lot of things previously, mostly because of procrastination and of course, laziness as well. There I make this post and I shall work it out, it's now or never.

#1 Me before you
Yes, the best selling novel and one of the hit in 2016. I watched the trailer and read also lots of friends' comment during its screening time, I don't know why but I was literally moved by the plot. Damn, blame to the little naive deep inside my heart. I'm truthfully appreciate the book voucher from the Government ever since my first time receiving back to sixth form time and last year, I used it to redeem the novel. I insisted to have myself entertained by the novel rather than movie though I may just settle it with maybe just 2 hours of watching time in front of laptop. To be true, I really miss those days I flip pages by pages and kept myself entertained by the plot (okay, it's young adult fiction). 'Those days' are quite a long time ago, during my high school time, to be exact, where my favourite novels including Meg Cabot's series and Mary Kate and Ashley. My obsession on that kind of young adult/teenage girls' kind of dream life are almost all plotted inside. Also, this is the time where I find it quite effective to improve my language too. Alright, one of my to-dos is to completed reading the left pages that are over than 450 pages.

#2 A fist within four walls 城寨英雄
Hahaha! Yes, you don't get it confused, it's the TVB drama that 'sapu' a lot in recent award ceremony. Acquaintances of mine know that I don't go after every new released tv show or drama unless I have the perfect timing to adapt it, the last one was '一屋老友记' House of Spirits as I had time to kill after my teaching at morning session. Over its great win and support from fans, this drama is undoubtedly a must watch and I always believe that it's never too late to watch any tv shows or drama as long as it's a good one. So, based on my previous experience, I believe that this can be settled easily and in shorter time (No need finger-crossed for this, haha!)

#3 Paper craft
I remember this is my last year's to-do around the month of January but I did freaking nothing in the end. I've been wanting to do some easy art craft despite my artistic skill in hands-on is very poor. I did poster colouring just like the primary school student do, I enjoyed throughout the process even though it's just purely colouring. In conjunction with upcoming Chinese New Year celebration, I would like to do some simple paper craft. I did watch the tutorial video and it's interesting! So, stay tuned for the outcomes.

#4 Perioral dermatitis
I uttered a big cry last night for the first time over this. Even I myself are shocked to know it's existence and why the heck it worsen blablabla? Okay, stop blaming but to face it. I'm now doing weekly follow up with dermatologist and sad to say that my pill intake routine has backed. All I want is to get it stabelised and the red mark/scar to fade. I'm taking good care on my food intake and lifestyle routine. Damn, I sleep as early as 10 as usual. God, please be good on my case.

#5 Helping hands
That's my responsibility to assist my mum and grandma as there will be some heavy grocery shopping (canned drinks and blablabla), prayers and spring cleaning. It's exhausting sometimes after been through the freaking traffic jam in the market, long queue at the counter, long wait for the empty lift.(Money, you come to me consistently in big amount in long run as well) But, it's one of the happiest moment I spend with them too actually.

I don't dare too big, five to-dos are right and nice to do within 19 days. Not to forget, the pending post to publish too. May your days be productive and stay hydrated!
